School Science Forum (SSF)
SSF is a year-long, syllabus-based programme designed for students in grades 5 to 9. Originally launched in 2004-05 as the Saturday Science Forum, the programme began on a smaller scale but was relaunched on a larger platform in 2011-12 due to its increasing popularity and demand. The programme aims to:
1. Provide students with live laboratory exposure throughout the academic year.
2. Strengthen foundational STEM concepts through hands-on experiments and activities, making learning engaging, accessible, and long-lasting.

This experiential approach to STEM education equips students with essential 21st-century skills, including critical thinking, creativity, innovation, teamwork, problem-solving, and decision-making.
With an average of 1,200 student registrations each year, the SSF program continues to inspire active participation and a passion for science.
The admission process for SSF takes place around the month of February every year.

Summer Programme
VASCSC's Summer Programme offers students a chance to make the most of their summer vacation through innovative and creative activities. Known for its hands-on, activity-based approach, this popular programme provides a variety of STEM-focused modules designed to engage students in fun and meaningful learning experiences.
Each year, the programme presents a wide range of activities tailored to different age groups and interests, allowing participants to explore diverse topics in science and technology. The modules are developed around emerging trends, ensuring students are exposed to the latest advancements in STEM fields. All activities take place in VASCSC's well-equipped labs and spaces, led by trained and experienced resource persons.

Projects and Practicals
The Centre has been helping out both individual students as well as student groups to perform curriculum-based experiments as well as projects. This programme is conducted throughout the year during weekdays. Guidance and facilities for performing the experiments and projects is provided by the Centre's experts. The students and teachers are encouraged to perform various projects applicable to their school curricula and other interesting ones. This programme has been most beneficial to high school students in fulfilling their school projects.

Other Activities
The Advanced B.Sc. Programme
The Advanced B.Sc. Programme in Physics is an initiative by VASCSC and Gujarat Science Academy to orient motivated B.Sc. students towards the field of research. A rigorous content session gives them an edge over the regular college physics syllabus. The programme also includes exposure visits, presentation sessions by students, assignment solving, projects etc. The students of First and Second year B.Sc. and Engineering can enroll themselves for this programme in the months of June and October every year.

Computer Training Programme
VASCSC, being the first institution in India to use BBC computers to develop education programmes, promotes effective use of computers in education systems right from the school level. A computer lab was set up at the centre to impart training to teachers, students and the general community to fulfil this purpose. The Education Department, Government of Gujarat has designated VASCSC as one of the recognized training Centres for computer training. Training programmes for secondary and higher secondary computer teachers are conducted through pre-announced batches.

Radio Programme
A 52-episode radio series in Gujarati titled ‘Smart India 21’ was developed based on the theme of Artificial Intelligence with the support of All India Radio and Vigyan Prasar. The series started on 20 May 2019. It was broadcasted from Akashvani's Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bhuj and Godhra stations every Monday during 9:30 pm - 10:00 pm (846 KHz MW AM). Every year, a different theme is given. VASCSC is the content partner (language partner) for the programme.
STEM Fests and Event Celebrations
VASCSC is at the forefront of organizing science popularization events. In order to reach out to wider communities, the Centre organizes various events annually. Several science-based competitions are also organized which include model making, science debate, quizzes etc. for children of different age groups. In addition, science model exhibitions, science graffiti, science experiment shows, astro-nights, science film shows etc. are also conducted.
